Oak Ridge High School ranked sixth best in Tennessee

Oak Ridge High School has been ranked sixth best high school in Tennessee in the most recent rankings by U.S. News.

The rankings were announced today.

The top four Tennessee schools are in or near Nashville. They are Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet High School and Martin Luther King Jr. Academic Magnet High School, both in Nashville; Merroll Hyde Magnet School in Hendersonville; and Brentwood High School in Brentwood.

Farragut High School in Farragut was named the fifth best high school in Tennessee.

ORHS, which has 1,479 students, ranked 709th in the nation and received a national silver medal.

The rankings evaluated 351 charter, magnet, and public high schools in Tennessee. Nearly 22,000 high schools across the country were studied, and 500 received gold medals, including four in Tennessee, U.S. News reported.
