The Oliver Springs Town Council voted Thursday 3-2, with one abstention, to offer the city manager job to Tina Treece of Rhea County, according to WYSH Radio in Clinton.
The town has been without a permanent city manager since earlier this year when David Bolling stepped down to accept a similar job in Maine.
Treece is the third person that the job has been offered to, and officials hope that she will be able to begin immediately if she accepts the position.
The original motion to offer Treece a salary of $39,000 per year was amended to $37,500 so that the city can also allow her use of a city vehicle to drive back and forth from her home in Rhea County, an estimated 120-mile round trip.
Interim City Manager Becky Campbell is expected to be in contact with Treece today to offer her the job and begin contract negotiations.
Earlier this month, Eddie Kelley, the son of former Oliver Springs Mayor Ed Kelley, said he would not be able to accept the job because he is not close enough to being able to retire from his job at the Y-12 National Security Complex.
