Colton Alexander Stout

Colton Alexander Stout, age 20, of Oak Ridge, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Colton was born July 30, 1993, in Oak Ridge, the son of Monroe Stout Jr. and Tracy Lynn Powers Stout. He was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School.

Colton was employed with the Campbell County EMS as an emergency medical technician. He had worked as a volunteer at the Marlow Volunteer Fire Department and as a substitute teacher with the Anderson County School System. He was a member of the Anderson County Rescue Squad. Colton enjoyed riding his motorcycle and ATVs and the great outdoors. He particularly enjoyed being with his family and friends and playing video games.

Colton was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Bobby Lee Powers and Joyce Myers Powers.

He is survived by his mother, Tracy Lynn Powers Stout of Oak Ridge; brother, Connor Lee Powers, a junior at Oak Ridge High School; half-brother, Jeremy Stout of Nashville; girlfriend, Samantha Cox of Powell; uncles, Rick Powers of Oliver Springs and Sam Stout of Oak Ridge; and aunt, Margie Stout, also of Oak Ridge.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 3, from 6–8 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 163 North Jefferson Circle, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev. Steve McDonald officiating. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The Campbell County EMS will serve as pallbearers. The EMS will also transport his casket to the cemetery in one of their ambulances, as well as provide an honor guard, and Lifestar will fly over the cemetery.

The family asks that any memorials be made in his name to the Marlow Volunteer Fire Department or to the Campbell County EMS.
