Anderson and Roane counties reported five more deaths due to COVID-19 on Tuesday, and Knox County reported another nine deaths.
November is the deadliest month for COVID-19 in all three counties, and there are about two weeks remaining in the month. Nine deaths have been reported in both Anderson and Roane counties so far this month, and 30 deaths have been reported in Knox County.
Of the five deaths reported Tuesday, two were in Anderson County, and three were in Roane County.
The nine deaths in Roane County this month are more than the eight reported in all of the previous months.
Oak Ridge Today has not analyzed the data for all counties surrounding Anderson County, but seven of Campbell County’s 20 deaths have been reported this month. That’s about one-third of the total deaths in Campbell County.

On Tuesday, Anderson County reported a total of 2,488 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began March 20. There have been 25 deaths and 61 hospitalizations.
Anderson County has reported 620 COVID-19 cases so far this month. That’s 25 percent of the total number of cases in the county.
Anderson County is now averaging more than 41.4 new cases of COVID-19 per day, up from 24.4 in the previous two-week period.
Roane County reported a total of 2,052 cases on Tuesday, with 17 deaths and 50 hospitalizations.
Roane County has already reported more cases this month, 592, than in any previous month.
Roane County is now averaging 36.9 new cases per day, up from 23.9 in the previous two-week period.
Knox County reported a total of 16,474 cases on Tuesday, with 126 deaths and 530 hospitalizations.
Knox County is averaging 194.8 new cases per day, up from 129.4 in the previous two-week period.
The positivity rate remains high in all three counties. The seven-day average of the positivity rate in Anderson County on Tuesday was 12.4 percent. It was 16.2 percent in Roane County. It was 14.1 percent in Knox County.
World Health Organization guidelines suggest a positivity rate below 5 percent for 14 days before activities re-open.
